1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how LearnedIQ ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal data in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and applicable regulations issued by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
2. Data we collect
We collect: (a) account information — full name, email address, bar number, state of practice, years called; (b) usage data — documents drafted, CPD entries logged, contracts reviewed; (c) content you input — intake form data, uploaded contracts, and any text you submit for drafting or review; (d) technical data — IP address, browser type, and session information collected automatically.
3. How we use your data
We use your data to: provide the drafting, review, and CPD-tracking features you request; send account-related emails including email confirmation and CPD deadline reminders; maintain and improve the security and performance of LearnedIQ; and comply with applicable legal obligations.
4. AI processing of your content
When you use the Document Drafter or Document Review features, the text you input or upload is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing in order to generate your document or report. This content is used solely to fulfil your request and is not used by us or by Anthropic to train AI models, in accordance with Anthropic's API data usage terms. We recommend avoiding entry of highly sensitive client-identifying information into these features where not strictly necessary.
5. Where your data is stored
Your account data, drafts, and review reports are stored using Supabase, with row-level security ensuring only you can access your own records. We do not sell your data to third parties.
6. Data sharing
We share data only with service providers necessary to operate LearnedIQ: Supabase (database and authentication), Anthropic (AI processing), Resend (transactional email), and Vercel (hosting). Each of these providers is contractually bound to process your data only for the purposes we specify.
7. Your rights under the NDPA
You have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of your account and associated data; object to certain processing; and lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. 8. Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and content are removed from our active systems, except where retention is required by law.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit and at rest, row-level access controls, and restricted internal access to protect your data. No system is completely secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice.
